Business Succession Planning is a multi-dimensional process which may include reorganizing equity, updating Wills and Trusts, reviewing insurance policies, drafting purchase and employment agreements, and strategizing with other advisors such as accountants, bankers and financial advisors.  Once a Business Succession Plan has been established, it is critically important the completed Plan be reviewed and updated as circumstances change.  We work with you to ensure your Business Succession Plan remains strong and efficient, and provides a stable platform for your business to continue to prosper.

Estates, Wills, and Trusts

Kantack Law Firm, PLLC engages in extensive Estate Planning coupled with Estate and Gift Taxation Planning to effectuate our clients’ desires and needs, minimize taxation of our clients’ estates, and provide for the future financial and structural needs of families in light of the wide range of family structures.  The process includes more than the traditional preparation of Last Wills and Testaments, and results in developing innovative techniques to resolve specific problems.

The Mergers and Acquisitions practice draws on the resources of the firm’s corporate and tax experience in a broad range of corporate transactions.  The firm has extensive experience in representing and advising purchasers and target companies in a wide variety of negotiated transactions, as well as reorganization transactions such as spinoffs, recapitalizations, and leveraged buyouts.  The firm has been involved in a variety of takeover situations, representing both acquirers and targets, and Boards of Directors and Committees thereof.  Transactions have been successfully completed in a variety of industries including manufacturing, distribution services, healthcare, finance, real estate development, investment advisers, insurance services, computer hardware and software, and technology.

Litigation

Kantack Law Firm recognizes that often the greatest value attorneys can provide to their client, especially a business client, is to assist them in recognizing areas of potential litigation and thereby avoid litigation.  When litigation is necessary to protect a client or to defend a client, the firm litigates in state and federal courts.  In addition to representing clients in trial and appellate courts, the firm represents clients in matters before administrative and regulatory agencies, and in arbitrations, mediations and other dispute resolution procedures.  The firm represents clients in a number of types of litigation, including corporate, commercial, contracts, estates and trusts, probate, personal injury, construction, taxation, and insurance.
